Gamma spectrometry
- The Institute has a range of high-resolution gamma-spectrometers,
based on planar and coaxial HPGe crystals
- In addition, several Cd(Zn)Te detectors operating at room temperatures
are available and in routine use for medium-resolution gamma spectrometry
- NaI-based scintillator detectors are also available
- Low-background iron chambers are used for measuring small activities
(see the pictures)
- The gamma spectroscopic facilities are operated at the
Department of Radiation Safety and at
the Department of Nuclear Research
